We just wrapped up another session of GMB University today! Two days of new tools, training, culture, challenges, teams and friendly competition, all culminating in a pinewood derby design challenge and race.
GMB had the distinct honor of attending the Calvin College Named Scholarship Dinner this past week, along with the two GMB scholarship recipients (and interns). Congratulations Andrew and Zach!
Since 2012, GMB has partnered with VOX of Holland, Michigan to help bring hope and life via clean, accessible and sustainable drinking water to sub-Saharan Africa.
GMB is honored to have been recognized with two awards by the Grand Rapids Chapter of the American Institute of Architects at their annual Honor Awards Gala held last night. GMB was presented with the 2016 Firm Achievement Award, an award that acknowledges continued leadership and contributions to both the architectural profession and the community. GMB also received an Honor Award in the unbuilt category for the ShearHouse project. ShearHouse was conceived as a prototype to address the “Missing Middle,” a series of housing typologies providing walkable, urban living that bridges the gap between suburban, detached homes and dense urban living and commercial development. Events include: “Evening with the ODC” on Tuesday, October 4, 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. “Building a Nature-Rich Community,” presented by Richard Louv on Wednesday, October 5, from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. “Natural Connections: Connecting Education and the Ecosystem” presentation, panel discussion and workshop, on Wednesday, October 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Join us and learn more about the transformative power of the natural world in community, family, business and education.
On Thursday, June 30, Resthaven broke ground on a 18,500 SF extension of their Maple Woods facility in Holland.
