Description
Environmentally efficient and conscientious through its construction and operation, 81 percent of the waste from the hotel’s construction was recycled. The hotel received LEED® points for actions including: providing bicycle storage and changing rooms; energy-efficient heating and cooling systems; recyclable, nontoxic building materials; environmentally friendly housekeeping practices; 33% water conservation; 54% FSC wood; indoor air quality enhancements; abundant natural lighting; low-maintenance landscaping with indigenous plantings; reflective roof; and use of local/regional materials.
This eco-boutique hotel is one of a handful of LEED Gold hotels in the world and only the third in the United States.
