Central Chiller Plant Addition

GMB has a long history of working with industrial clients all over the country. We completed this central chiller plant in West Michigan, designed to serve a manufacturing facility addition and also replace existing chiller plants in three of the company’s other manufacturing facilities. The chilled water plant is constructed with 5,000 tons of installed chiller capacity but has the infrastructure to expand to 7,500 tons. GMB’s role was to bring the plant from concept to completion, including budgeting and cost / payback analysis, design, construction administration, and startup support. The challenges included a small site and a tight schedule in order to meet manufacturing production requirements. The project took about six months from concept to construction documents and approximately nine months for construction.
