Family, Infant, and Toddler Learning Lab

Central Michigan University (CMU) is extending the existing Child Development Learning Laboratory program. This learning laboratory program prepares CMU students for a wide-range of careers in early childhood through authentic and applied learning experiences. With well-established Guiding Principles at the onset of the project, our team was able to design warm, inviting, and flexible spaces that facilitate learning. Special care was given to the design of the observation booths so students can continuously observe multiple areas without interrupting natural learning and play among children. Existing office spaces were expanded and reorganized in order to accommodate staffing needs
