Extending students’ education beyond the traditional classroom.

This new elementary school’s layout is broken down into class wings, and further grouped by classrooms clustered around extended learning space where group work between different classes can occur. Segmenting the school into smaller spaces minimizes the overwhelming effect that the large building space could have on elementary-age children.  The building is connected to its site through the integration of sustainable elements such as a wind turbine, geothermal heat pump mechanical system, clerestory windows, radiant floors, and energy efficient lighting.
