GMB was honored last night at the annual AIA Grand Rapids Honor Awards Gala for our West Coast Chamber, Terra Square and Little Hawks Discovery Preschool projects.

The Honor Awards Program recognizes excellence in architecture throughout the Grand Rapids region and promotes the value of good design, encouraging members to pursue excellence through their work and through service to the public.  The jury consisted of practicing architects from outside the chapter.

Inspired by five core values of the West Coast Chamber, the building and site enhancement connects people, and promotes a forward-thinking vision through a more contemporary expression unifying interior and exterior spaces.

Terra Square reveals the charm of the existing building, paying homage to its history, and providing a beacon with in the developing urban context of the city’s master plan.

The Little Hawks Discovery Preschool continually connects children to the outdoors, even for programs conducted indoors.  Exploration of the natural world is encouraged through a compact, efficient building, reinforcing the principle that nature is the primary classroom.

Our multi-disciplinary team of teams encourages open sharing, collaboration and empowerment, connecting us to one another and to our bigger purpose: Learning, Growing, and Giving Back.

Congratulations team!
